Kirk Carmichael, LIMHP, LADC

“Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time.”

Kirk works in the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) for adults, performs drug and alcohol evaluations for adults and adolescents, and provides mental health and substance abuse counseling, along with family therapy.

After Care

Our Outpatient Group (After Care) is offered to clients who have recently completed treatment in IOP, residential treatment, or require treatment in a group environment.  The primary purpose for our Outpatient Group is maintenance therapy.  We have groups for adults and adolescents.

Outpatient Individual

Our Outpatient Individual program is available for adults and youth who have been assessed to have a substance abuse issue(s) which are best addressed in a one-on-one setting.

Intensive Outpatient (IOP) Services for Adolescents and Adults

Our Intensive Outpatient Service (IOP) is a group program for adolescents and adults who require a higher level of care than Outpatient Individual for their substance abuse issue(s).  IOP is 10 hours a week and is 12 weeks in duration.  We have IOP groups for both adults and adolescents.  This program focuses on relapse prevention, substance abuse education, development of coping strategies, etc.

Drug and Alcohol Evaluations

We offer Drug and Alcohol Evaluations in three distinct levels.  The content covered in our outpatient programs are relapse prevention, the cost of use, relationships in recovery, codependency/enabling/family roles, values exercise, mental health issues, effective goal setting, and development of an after care plan.

Evidence Based Practices

We use the 12-steps model, cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing and ASAM Levels of Care.

The substance abuse programs at Oasis are distinct in many areas:

  • Small group sizes
  • Christian approach (if the client chooses)
  • Emphasis on confidentiality
  • Based on recent research-based best practices
  • Personalized program
  • Personalized treatment plans
  • Funding assistance available for qualifying individuals
  • All inclusive
  • Family involvement
  • Loving and caring individuals
