CASA of Northeast Nebraska

CASA’s vision is that every child that enters the CASA network will have a safe and permanent home environment.

CASA volunteers are trained volunteers from the community who speak up for the best interests of the children in the court room.  Children helped by CASA include those for whom home placement is being determined in the juvenile court.  Most of the children involved are victims of neglect and abuse.

CASA volunteers are appointed to a case by the judge.  The goal of the volunteer is to provide a carefully researched background of the child to help the court make an informed decision about the child’s future.  The volunteer remains assigned to the same child for the duration of the case and are often the only stable factor in the child’s life.
