Tower School

The Tower School is an ESU #1 school located in Wayne, NE.  ESU #1 serves children through K-12 schools in Cedar, Dakota, Dixon, Knox Thurston, and Wayne counties in Northeast Nebraska.

The ESU #1 Tower School provides services to stude

nts through two primary programs.

The Severe/Profound (S/P) program is designed to meed the educational emotional, social, and physical needs of students in the six county area who have been diagnosed as Mentally Handicapped: Severe/Profound.

The Behaviorally Disordered (BD) program is used to teach students appropriate behavior to function within society.  The students work within a smaller student-teacher ratio and will have a greater opportunity to improve academic, social, and vocational skills to achieve this goal.  A long-term goal of the BD program is to return students to their local special education program as soon as possible.
