Medically Handicapped Children’s Program
The Medically Handicapped Children’s Program is a community service provided by the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services.
Services include services coordination/case management, specialty medical team evaluations, access to specialty physicians, and payment of treatment services.
This program is especially for families with children who have a disability or chronic health problem that may need help identifying services for their child, or access to diagnostic and treatment services. These families may also need financial assistance for the cost of the medical care, or assistance in accessing additional community resources.
Families eligible for this program have children who: live in Nebraska, are under 21 years of age, have a qualifying disability or ongoing medical condition, and meet the financial eligibility.
An application for the Medically Handicapped Children’s Program can be completed by phone, letter, or personal interview.
